Me - none.
Although I did have a peek inside a 508 cab when the driver was driving and left the door open.
And the same for a Networker, I just happened to be sitting within view of the main cab and controls!

Brilliant loco, never been on it's footplate but despached it a couple of times, great engine Smile

@ryan, do the Southeastern 508s have that big daft, heavy slidey cab door like the mersey ones do?

We went on the Cambrian Steam Specials in 2005 and just happened to be staying at the same hotel in Machynlleth as the driver. We got to know him a bit and he let us on the footplate when he saw us at Porthmadog

I would love to go on the footplate of a steam loco in my opinion there's no better train them a steam loco.

Yep. The southeastern 508s are (soon to be 'were' Sad ) Merseyrail units, they were renumbered from 508101/105/106/107/109/113/116/119/121/129/132/133 to 508201-212 inclusive.

The door often was left open as the locking mechanism was faulty most of the time! Laughing

lol, It's brilliant watching the guards every time they wanna get into the back cab wrestling with a huge slidey door that looks like it weighs a ton Laughing Why don't they just replace them with proper cab doors?
